MY STORY AND WHY I TEACH PILATES FOR MOMS
I've been practicing Pilates since I was 12 and teaching for more than a decade. Pilates helped me through several life changes including ending my dance career, recovering from an emergency c-section and regaining my sense of self as a first-time mom. Because of that, I became truly passionate about helping other mothers.
Many moms feel out of place in traditional studio environments. Too busy. Too tired. Too overwhelmed. Too “not the aesthetic.” Too far. Too expensive.
My mission:
Create a space where moms feel welcome, supported, and strong, exactly as they are.
For a decade I taught in-studios, alongside physical therapists, privately in-home and virtually. Now I'm proud to bring you Pilates On Demand with the same 1:1 feel as in-person sessions. As a busy mom myself, I know the value of doing Pilates from home.

Frequently Asked Questions
about Pilates On Demand
Will I get results doing Pilates On Demand from home?
Yes, especially since the classes are intentional, efficient, and guided by an experienced instructor. Most moms get better results at home because they’re more consistent without the pressure, commute, or childcare logistics.
How much time do I need for Pilates On Demand?
Most moms only have 15-30 minutes, which is enough. Shorter, focused classes are incredibly effective and build the consistency that leads to real strength.
Do I need any special equipment?
A mat is all you truly need. However props like a Pilates ball, bands, weights, roller or a Pilates ring are optional and generally inexpensive. These props can add diversity and increase the intesity/effectiveness of your workout.
Is it safe for postpartum recovery or core/pelvic floor issues?
This is one of the biggest questions I hear: “Will this make things better… or worse?” With the right instructor and properly taught fundamentals, doing Pilates at home is safe, smart, and incredibly effective for rebuilding the core and pelvic floor.
Medical clearance from your healthcare provider is always recommended.
What if my kids interrupt me or I can’t finish a class?
That’s normal and expected. Pilates On Demand is made for real-life mom chaos. You can pause, rewind, restart, or take shorter classes that fit into your day.
Will I miss the accountability of a studio?
This is a personal question and something many moms worry about. My experience has been that most find the opposite to be true. Since classes are short and available anytime, consistency is easier. ACP also offer programs and guidance designed to keep you motivated.
Do I need to be flexible or in shape to start?
Absolutely not. Moms commonly worry they’re “too out of shape,” “too stiff,” or “too far behind.” Pilates is designed to meet you exactly where you are.
How quickly will I feel or see results?
This is a deeply personal question. It's not uncommon for many mom to feel a difference in one week. I often hear things like "I feel stronger," "I'm standing taller," or "I'm more connected to my core" after the first few sessions. Visible results often follow within a few weeks of consistency but this varies for everyone.
Are Pilates On Demand classes as effective as in-person ones?
Yes, as long as they’re well-taught classes with good programming. Many moms say on demand feels like 1:1 training because of the slower pace and detailed cues.
What if I don’t know what class to pick?
This is a common concern. That’s why I create programs, provide a weekly recommended schedule, and organize classes by level, prop, goal, etc. in the On Demand section. You are also welcome to reach out for suggestions to hello@amycardinpilates.com.
How often should I do Pilates each week?
I love this question! Honestly as little as 1-2 session a week can change how you feel. For best results I suggest aiming for 3–5 short sessions per week. This can been extremely effective and realistic for busy moms balancing family, work and life.
Do I need fancy athletic wear?
Absolutely not! Pajamas, leggings, whatever you’re wearing is more than enough. All apparel is welcome as long as it doesn't restrict your movement. This is not about aesthestics. Give yourself permission to just show up for yourself.
What if I’ve tried at-home workouts before and never stuck with them?
Pilates feels different. I often say Pilates is magical because it’s calming, strengthening, grounding, and designed to support your body rather than exhaust it. Many moms finally stick with movement when they switch to Pilates because they love the way it makes them feel.
Will a Pilates On Demand membership really save me money?
Yes! One month of unlimited Pilates On Demand costs less than one in-person group class. Plus it removes the cost of childcare, gas, and time away from home.
